Sophie

Sophie is a dance teacher, performer and registered dance movement psychotherapist. Sophie started learning to dance at the age of four and is experienced in a range of styles including tap, ballet, modern jazz, street and belly dance, and has obtained many grade and awards with International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA), and the Association of Russian Ballet and Theatre arts (ARBTA) as well as has level 1 and 2 certifications in Dance Leadership with Sports Leaders UK.She has over 7 years of cumulative dance and movement facilitation experience and has taught tap dance to children, teens and adults.

Tap dance in particular has always held a special place in Sophie's heart and she loves the rhythmic nature that underpins it. This passion led her to the world of belly dance in her early twenties; an equally dynamic and rhythmic style that she deeply values for its ability to empower, liberate and inspire body confidence.

Sophie has recently relocated to the East Midlands and enjoys spending her spare time hiking in the beautiful local landscape with her fiancĂ© and dog. She is a past fanatic and relishes slow Sundays when she can cook (and eat) homemade pasta.

Join Sophie in her Fit4Tap (for beginners and refreshers) or Tap Step-up (for improvers) or both classes every Friday at 7:15-8:00pm and 8:15-9:00pm respectively.
